OFFICIAL SEMESTER II WELCOME: THE KECOSA 2026 ACADEMIC COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS
. Greetings to the KECOSA Fraternity,
As we officially commence Semester II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the Kericho County Students Association (KECOSA) extends a formal welcome to all members returning to Kisii University. Having successfully navigated the first half of the academic year, we celebrate your resilience and your continued dedication to the pursuit of knowledge at the "University of the 21st Century."
Institutional Appreciation
We wish to express our profound appreciation to the Kisii University Management, specifically the Office of the Dean of Students. The university’s commitment to providing a structured and supportive environment for student organizations is a cornerstone of our collective success. Through the provision of modern facilities, administrative guidance, and a secure campus atmosphere, Kisii University ensures that county cohorts like KECOSA can effectively execute their mandate of student service and welfare.
The Mandate and Importance of the Association
In accordance with the Kisii University Student Handbook and the
university’s statutes on student governance, KECOSA is recognized as a vital
pillar of the student support structure.
The significance of our association is
rooted in three key areas: Welfare and Advocacy: Providing a dedicated safety
net for members, ensuring that no student from Kericho County faces social or
financial challenges in isolation.
Institutional Linkage: Serving as the
official bridge between the Kericho County Government and Kisii University. This
linkage is crucial for the dissemination of information regarding County
Bursaries, internships, and holiday mentorship programs. Communal Solidarity:
Historically, KECOSA was established to provide a "home away from home,"
fostering a sense of belonging and academic brotherhood among students from the
tea-growing highlands. You can track our historical updates on our Official
KECOSA Blog.
A Call to Active Participation
As we enter this second semester, the strength of our association remains in our
unity. We call upon all members—across all departments and schools—to
participate fully in the association's forums and upcoming initiatives. Your
active engagement is essential to ensure that KECOSA remains a powerful voice
for your interests, both within the university corridors and back home in
Kericho County. Let us maintain the high standards of discipline and excellence
that define the Kisii University community. We wish the entire KECOSA fraternity
a purposeful and academically rewarding Semester II. Unity is Strength.
